DESIGN & COLOUR STORY
According to Anishinaabe law; to be courageous is to have a strong heart. This concept of bravery being connected to our heart is a common theme in many languages and even in many stories and plots. Remember the Lion from Wizard of Oz? He was missing courage because he did not have a heart.
What does this really look like though; to have strength of heart? What does it feel like? There is a common misconception that bravery or courage begets a reward or praise of some sort. But this is not always true. Isn't it the case that to hold onto hope and truly believe in healing and change amongst the tragedy of today's world is an act of bravery? An act of a strong heart? We believe so. But will that hope necessarily translate into the healing and change? No, it will not. This is what is brave about it! To expand the capacity for hope and heart regardless of the outcomes. Where in your life are you courageous? Where in your life could you strengthen your heart?
